Are you trying to start JBoss using run.bat?. Since JBoss version was changed in Appian 7.1, you should try starting the jboss using standalone.bat in this location "Appian71\\bin\\jboss\\jboss-as-7.1.1.Final\\bin".

I have seen this when using an older version of Java. Try checking that the latest Java 7 is installed and that JAVA_HOME is set.

Mohan, the right command to start jboss is (for default JBOSS installed with Appian) appian\\bin\\jboss\\jboss-as-7.1.1.Final\\bin\\standalone.bat (for windows machine). Make suer your paths are correctly set (such as JAVA_HOME).
