Would anyone be able to provide experience/knowledge of Appian Cloud emails bein

Would anyone be able to provide experience/knowledge of Appian Cloud emails being rejected by corporate mail servers?

For context our send email nodes are sending emails from @client domain. These emails will get received by personal email addresses, but most @<othercompany> email addresses are never reached. I checked the email header in Gmail and see the SPF authentication has failed, that <emailserverhostname.appiancloud.com> is not a valid sender for the domain of <@client> emails. So I'm assuming that "spoofing" is the problem to solve.

When I spoke to the client IT contact they said they would allow traffic from Appian->client for the incoming mail server, but I'm under the impression Appian->otherExternalCorporateUsers would still fail if they require it to be a valid sender.
