Yesterday I was working on doing a fresh Installation of Appian 16.2 and on the initial startup there was an error saying that the file \\\\appian\\ear\\suite.ear\\web.war\\WEB-INF\\conf\\process\\email-address-config.xml was not found. I looked into the error and found that the Appian 16.2 installation I had downloaded did not include this file when I ran the setupWin_appian-16.2.0.0.exe. However there is a reference to the file in \\\\appian\\ear\\suite.ear\\web.war\\WEB-INF\\config.xml.

I fixed the error by going into a backed up previous instance of Appian 16.1 and copying the "email-address-config.xml" into the location it was referenced at.

Can you confirm this was a fresh installation and not a migration? Did you copy any other configurations from your previous installation? 16.2 windows installer correctly created email-address-config.xml in my environment.

This was with a fresh install. At the point when I got the error was the first time I tried starting jboss. I ran the setup, unzipped jboss, did the steps needed to configure the files but did NOT delete any files and when I started jboss through the command line it errored saying that file was missing.

It could be that there was an issue with the setup, or an issue with the installer itself. Try re-downloading the installer and running the setup again.
