While installing Appian I am getting an error i.e unable to start the Appian search server though all the gateways are active. Please help.

Do the checkpoint and restart the Appian Search Server

@vamsib I did the checkpoint and restarted everything again. Still I get the same error viz. 'Unable to start the Appian Search Server.'

Could you please try with the below steps : -
Try with cleanup scripts for cleaningup the process,data and logs after starting Appian Engines.
Do checkpoint for appian engines
Start the Appian Serach Server.

Can you check what java version are you using? Supported jdk is Java 1.8.0_x (update 40 or later).

Maybe the Search Server can't be started because the start up script can't find the Java installation. Command export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.8.xxx/bin/java in a wrapper script will help.

java version "1.8.0_40"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_40-b25)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.40-b25, mixed mode)
