Hi All,

We need to migrate one of the Appian installation which has pre SAIL Appian version (version 6.2 may be) to the latest Appian version. I have checked Update guide which describes that we will first require to migrate to the SAIL based version 6.6.1 and from 6.6.1 to the latest version available, please correct me. I have tried to check for the migration guide to 6.6.1 but as its out of support version I am being redirected to latest Appian documentation.

I want to know,

1. If its possible to migrate from an ancient version 6.2 to latest version.
2. If its possible than what are the steps/pre cautions are involved in the Appian migration from 6.2 to latest version. I guess along with migration steps there will be steps involved to migrate all the UI screens from Pre SAIL UI design to SAIL based UI.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I suggest reviewing the documentation:

As per the documentation:

If you are updating from a version of Appian below 7.7 it is not necessary for you to update to version 7.7 before updating to the latest version of Appian. You may update directly from any version of Appian greater than 6.6.1 to the latest version of Appian. However, updating from a version prior to 7.7 requires additional steps not listed in this guide. You must consult the update guide for prior versions of Appian to find the necessary steps.

Hi All,

We have re investigated the version details from our customer and it appears to be 7.5 of Appian. In this case we do not need to evaluate the Pre SAIL migration efforts.
