How to Tell Engine Checkpoint Time

looking at this entry I can see the checkpoint start at 01:11:01 and is it safe to say that it was completed at 01:13:40?

You can search / grep for "tailsave" in the db_*.log for the Appian Engine, to figure out how long it took to checkpoint.

For eg:
2016-03-07 20:36:57 [PA00001]
{pa53.kdb 528226} () WARN .a.pf.te "" "32996.85" ".a.db.tailsave"

This log shows that the Process Analytics 0000 Engine took 32996 milliseconds to checkpoint.

Yes, what you posted is also accurate.

Based on the snippet of log you provided from the gw_*.log, it seems like the Engine took about 2 minutes, 39 seconds to checkpoint.

Also, when running D:\\appian\\server\\_scripts\\checkpoint-suite.bat do all of the engines checkpoint at one? Or is it synchronous or asynchronous? Does it wait for one engine to finish checkpointing before going to the next engine?

Yes, it issues a check-point command to all engines at the same time.

You can choose to check-point engines individually too.
