When do cancelled processes get archived?

I've noticed that we have a lot of cancelled process instances that are fairly old. Do they get archived via the process model's configured data management, or are there different rules applied to processes that are cancelled instead of completed? I couldn't find a docs page describing what happens when a process is cancelled, any pointers would be helpful.

@jasonr,
The configuration under data management tab applies to both cancelled and completed process instances.The same can be seen there i.e. Data Management tab.

Out of curiosity, does this question ties to a Dev Environment? If so, that's fine.

Sylvain - how do we ensure that cancelled processes will get archived the same as completed processes?

It looks like, according to the related forum post, comments here, and the docs page on data management that it should follow the same rules for both cancelled and completed. I may have to look into why some cancelled processes are sticking around longer.

Agree with Sylvain. I have not seen it follow the same rules (even though the material say it should). We have it as a part of maintenance to complete cancelled processes so that they will archive out. Not ideal, but a part of our 'maintenance', just like looking at processes that errored that need to be cleaned.

Christine - glad I am not alone in seeing old cancelled processes that should've been archived off. Perhaps I should raise a defect with technical support about this behavior, since it's inconsistent with documentation.

Please do so, since maintenance can be rather cumbersome.
