Redirect after Appian Logout

Hi All,

We have configured a SP initiated SSO for one of our end user portals. User logs into the portal where Appian is embedded and once SSO happens, he/she can work on the embedded journey.

Now we are trying to extend the SSO for another portal (non embedded) but via an IDP journey to Appian. We are able to successfully do SSO into Appian where it overrides the external portal screen and user can continue to work. The issue we are facing now is once the user logs out of Appian, it is redirecting the user to the login page of the end user portal which has the SP initiated SSO setup in Admin Console and not to the portal which had the IDP initiated SSO.

I couldn't find any place in Appian where the log out urls can be configured explicitly. I believe it is all driven from the meta deta files content which is uploaded for an IDP and the corresponding Appian meta data file generated for the same ...

Kindly provide your suggestions on how can we enable two different log out journeys if multiple external portals are used to perform SSO into Appian and it is not an embedded journey.

Hi Hitesh,

Appian does not have the functionality to modify logout behavior yet. We have seen customers who make use of their IDP's functionality to redirect users upon logout from Appian. You will have to check if this is supported by your IDP.

Hi Rohith,

Thanks for your input. Can you please also let me know what is the use of the below field in the SAML tab of the Authentication window under Admin Console:

"Use Identity Provider’s login pagewith" with a checkbox before it.

Appian Documentation doesn't mentions anything about it.

That checkbox is used to change the redirection behavior to the IDP's login instead of Appian login page. The purpose of this setting is to allow all users to be redirected to any authentication mode(Appian or SAML) of your choice.
