Data Sync Error when starting in newly created workspace

I am working through the Appian Analyst learning path.  I have set up the Appian Community Account, but while working through the hands on activity I am getting an error message when selecting the VIN for vehicle detail:

 

“An Error Has Occurred An error occurred while retrieving the data for "W3157AA Vehicle". Details: This record type or a related record type with sync enabled is unavailable because the data has not been synced, or the existing synced data is invalid. Contact your system administrator. (APNX-1-4205-052)”

I went to the Monitor tab in Appian Designer and tried to refresh, but it hasn't corrected the error. Does anyone have any insight into this error or how I can correct this so I can continue in the workspace?
