Encrypting the Appian folders in a on-premise server

Hello, 
 Is it possible to encrypt the Appian folders in a On-premise Server box. (for starters: how the license file when tried opening is encrypted) Has anyone every had any experience or can point me to a thread where someone was able to encrypt all the sensitive folders related to Email, Data source and other configurations etc. Also if you can suggest if it is advisable in terms of speed over security benefits or vice-versa?

I would be interested to know what this would achieve? Access to the server should be restricted by your local policies and if someone were to gain un-authorised access to your Appian server I would suggest that your configuration files are the least of your worries!
