Updating Hibernatejjdbc Batch and Fetch Size

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had ever increased the hibernate batch size and/or hibernate fetch size of the jdbc? If so, how was this done and what was the impact on your system?

We are getting some socket timeouts and were looking to improve this. we though increasing the hibernate batch size and/or hibernate fetch size may help based on this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18014539/connection-exception-fetching-large-data-from-mysql
