Large Discrency between Folder Size and Downloaded Zip

I looked at a document folder on our Appian WebApp and its claimed size is 313.03 MB.

But, when I downloaded it the resulting zip was 4.29 GB why is there such a huge discrepancy?

This folder is expected to be filled further but it seems like it will be too large to download.
