Here is our documentation regarding query timeouts for export to excel https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/20.4/Optimizing_Record_Lists_for_Export_to_Excel.html#avoiding-query-timeouts-when-exporting-data
Do you know how many columns your backing table has? Is it a table or a view? If it's a view, the statement could potentially be very slow.
It’s a table and the table has 135 columns

we were able to download when data was less around 3k with 135 columns in the table. Now record count is 5777 . Is it because of more number of column in the backing table ?
Please suggesr
Yes, if you read the documentation I attached it mentioned that we recommend no more than 50 columns when exporting data to excel. You may want to consider using one of the export to excel system rules which let you specify the columns to export.
Table has 135 columns but we are exporting only 9 columns in the excel. Still do you feel error is because of backing table?
Are you using the OOTB export attached to the record list grid or are you using the a!exportToExcel functions?
With the export on the record list, even if you only see 9 columns if will try to export the entire underlying table columns
Yes it is OOTB rxport attached to record list ..
Is it possible to export only 9 columns ? What is the solution you suggest for this issue?
Please review this function https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/20.4/Export_To_Excel_Smart_Service.html
You can also look into using a!gridField() for your record list which has a lot of other benefits
