Hi Team,
We have a requirement to upload a file, read data from it and display the data on a button click in an interface.
We have tried this in a two-step method by orchestrating this in a process model:
1. Uploaded the file using "fileUploadField" component and submitted the form.
2. Reading data in script task and navigating back to the same interface.
But here the drawback is until unless the form has been submitted the file won't store on Appian KC so we can't read it. Also, the user has to perform two actions 1. upload the file and 2. click on the "Import data" submit button. Find the below image for reference.
Is there any way to implement this task with a single click?
Thanks in advance,
Mahesh

This is just the limitation of the way files are uploaded to Appian. You could re-think the User Experience. Have the form as you've designed it but re-name the 'Import Data' button to 'Review File Contents' which would then submit the form, load the file, and then use the loaded file in a second (chained) form to present the file contents for review.
Additionally here I'll typically chain the form back to itself when an Import type button is clicked, to the user it doesn't appear as the form has been submitted. Otherwise as others have mentioned, you will not be able to process/read the document until the form is submitted.
