How do I change the custom URL that is generated when creating a record type?

This functionality is currently not available. The URL will be unique, so users can link directly to the Record, but it is not customizable.

I captured the following, "All Record Types have a custom URL Stub instead of the auto-generated URL Stub" and we have record types that use a custom URL that were developed by other developers. I just haven't been able to figure out how they did that. Maybe this is a feature that used to be available but is no more?

That statement was part of a list of "Best Practices" - I should have said that "All Record Types should have a custom URL....."

Yes, you're correct, it's an older feature that was removed. The Best Practices documentation is outdated in this case. I ran into this same issue a few months ago, best practice now should be to rely on the auto-generated value.

I just noticed this as well - in my case, we have custom URL stubs existing for certain record types and we are now wondeirng how to handle a request to change it; it seems we are stuck. This seems a bit inconvenient.
