I have a data entity record and have created a list view rule which takes one input parameter which is the primary key (Ex: rf!formNumber).
Within the rule, i refer the input parameter with ri! , i see that the search does not work.
instead of referring it by ri! if i refer it by rf! the search works.
Is this normal behavior?
Should not the search work when i refer it with ri! as well?

Assuming you are within the Record Builder, yes this is the normal behavior. Refer to this piece of documentation:

Thanks alex. If we refer it as rf! within the rule, then we lose the reusability of the rule. That is why I was checking this.
