Multiselect some of the record

I want to select multiple records and do the same action for all of them together .Is there a best practice to do this and how ?
Can we create a context menu to do the same ?

I suppose Sathya is suggesting what csteward has suggested.
To addition to what I suggested, you can even create a site with the action (with start form), thus the site page will directly show the record list because as soon as you go to that site the action start form will show up which you can configure to show the selectable record grid
