Complex data structures

How Appian allows to match complex database schemas with CDTs. For instance, a simple database table can match with CDT using JPA, but for complex databases there might be many interrelationships.

I think you will not want to map a complex DB to a single CDT because that means that Appian will always do many queries for loading a single item. We keep our CDTs flat, load related items as needed and create views to access data from multiple tables at once.

I agree generally with Stefan, however you can create CDTs with the relationships as documented at the link below.

@stefanh791, @nathan.schmitz thank you for your explained guidance. I would like to know schema management especially in complex database schemas viz recommended approaches to managing database schemas especially when there are multiple interrelationships among them NOT intra-relationships. Pitfalls that may raise during this schemas management.

What exactly do you mean with "schema management"? Is this related to mapping existing data structures to Appian? Do you create these tables through Appian?

Multiple I meant that, the schema management with respect to multiple schemas and their management to cope with the ripple effect during changes to the schemas. I found the clues for them. Thank you for your suggestions.
