Document management

Hello all,

Looking to have bit of understanding, around document handling in File server used with Appian server

Currently In Appian system, document uploaded through process documents are getting saved in accdocs folders.  However, the current situation is all document which user upload in the system, are getting upload into one folder inside accdocs2 folder. So need to know

- Can be change that ,  after any limit it create new folder and upload there, if there is any configuration please let me know.

-  Who decide that, where to save the document uploaded in collaboration, need to save in which accdocs and which folder inside that? Do we have any pattern or structure for that. ?

Thanks

  • How are the users uploading the documents? Is it via a process which dictates which folder the document is being stored? If that is the case then that is the reason all uploaded documents are currently being stored in that one location.

Documents are usually uploaded via a process and you can also create folders via a process. There is no limit to the number of folders you can create.

The developer decides where to upload documents. The system decides where to create the new folder and store the document which can be one of the three folder structures accdocs1, accdocs2, or accdos3.

I do not know the pattern if there is one.
  • Hello Midge,
Folder getting created in Appian is ok. I am talking about Folder getting created inside accdocs, in File share server, where appian actually Save those document

Can we control folder creatation which is done by System? Currently system is saving all document in one folder inside accdocs 2.

    Cheers
