Appian Upgrade

Hi,

I need to perform a migration between Appian version (7.10) and the newest one (17.2), in the same machine.

Before proceeding with the migration process, I would like to understand the following:

1. When the Appian version 7.10 will be discontinued?
2. When the Portal component (in Appian version 7.10) will be discontinued?
3. When the Forms (in Appian version 7.10) will be discontinued?

After some research I found a migration guide very useful to apply the upgrade, however I’m facing with two different migration approaches:

• Total Migration – All the processes, forms and other components are migrated to the newest version (following the upgrade guide)
  • What are the advantages/disadvantages?
• Partial Migration – Upgrade to the Appian version 17.2 without forms migration, for instance.
  • Is it possible? I know that I can export an application and import it, but it is feasible to install version 17.2 and after that import the applications that are in version 7.10? Appian will recognize the components between different versions? Or should I not consider this approach?

Can you help me with those questions?
