Fitnesse: How to verify read only field which has no label but a value ?

Please use the index similar to below syntax...

| verify field | FIELD_LABEL or [FIELD_INDEX] or FIELD_LABEL[INDEX] | contains value | VALUE |

The above method doesn't work . It says "Invalid argument" . Do we have any other option ?

Try this:

| verify field | [1] | is present |

If that isn't working, it is likely that the field is a type that needs to be specifically identified.

Above method worked but I have a doubt . How will u ensure that it is referring to the same field i.e Address ? Is there a way to validate the value also ? We definitely want to validate the text/value coz it is getting fetched from the previous form so we may want to compare the value from the previous form to this form .

You'll want to use:

| verify field | FIELD_LABEL or [FIELD_INDEX] or FIELD_LABEL[INDEX] | contains value | VALUE | 

Or

| verify field | FIELD_LABEL or [FIELD_INDEX] | in section | SECTION_NAME | contains | VALUE(S) |

As informed earlier , first method is not working with the error "Invalid argument" and to use the second method I don't have section name since its not part of section :(
