Application packages compatibility 7.8 - 17.1

Question

Hello guys, 
 as I understood correctly based on the discussions here, Appian does not support backward import compatibility of application packages. 
 However, when I will try to export a package developed in version 7.8, I should be able to import the zip application package to newer version 17.1, right?

Yes, importing will work, provided you have all dependencies in place. I would go through the release notes of each version from 7.9 to 17.1 to find changed behavior and deprecated functionality so that you can try to make sure your application will continue working without issues.
