Process Backed records : Delay in refreshing the data

Hi All,
#version : 16.2
We are using process backed records. On dashboards we are updating the data and writing it back to the process instance from record dashboard by using JMS.From process matrix we have observed that JMS is taking just a few seconds to send and receive data.However, we are facing delay in getting the refreshed data back on the dashboard. We reckon this might be some issue between process instance and dashboards. Has anyone faced this issue before? How can we remove the latency and improve performance?

How? And more importantly why? There are much easier mechanisms available to update data.
