Reassignment Options - How it works?

Certified Lead Developer

Hi All,

Need some clarification/confirmation on the below two options which we get when we set the default reassignment privileges on a task and a user tries to reassign it.

Reassign To

Choose from all assignees
Choose from all users and groups

As per my understanding, the above 2 options appear only when the task is assigned to a group of people at that point of time. It can be either a group or a set of individual users.

'Choose from all assignees' will list down all the users or groups to whom the task is assigned currently. User can do multiple selections from the list. Once it is reassigned to the selected list of people, when one of those users tries to reassign it again, he or she will see only the list of users or groups as options to whom it was reassigned at first place.

'Choose from all users and groups' will list down all the users from the environment (only if the user who is trying to do the reassignment is of 'Manager' role or above to that process model instance having the active task) else only his own user id will appear. It will also show all the groups available in that environment irrespective of the process model permission level.

Another scenario is if the task is assigned to an individual user and when he or she tries to reassign it, they will have only one input field (similar to 'Choose from all users and groups') where they can select users or groups based on their permission level to the process instance.

Please add if I have missed anything or the understanding is incorrect. Provide your suggestions or feedback as well:)

Thanks.
Hitesh
