Fitnesse 17.3.1 - Field Population skipping characters

Hi All,

My organisation is currently using Fitnesse as part of our Automated Testing Suite. However I've had some issues with the populate field methods. When i call these in a Fitnesse script, they don't seem to populate the values correctly. There seems to be some input lag and characters are skipped.

Version Details:

Appian: 17.1

Fitnesse: 17.3.1

Browser: IE 11

Script:

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a short wait between each step?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately the error is still occurring, looks like it is within the Populate field method itself rather than between each method.

Not too sure what i'm doing to cause it to happen.

You are not alone. I'm experiencing the same issue with IE 11. However, my current workaround is to use chrome or Firefox. I am very interested for a resolution. I will keep monitoring this post...

Hi Mike, Sorry for the late reply(I was on leave).

I'll have to investigate further, but that might be the issue.

The fields update after key-press which in turn re-runs a query. The query is the only line of code which is re-evaluated on key-press.

Zac, were you able to resolve this? I am still having issues running my tests when selecting the IE browser. I have no issues with Firefox. Thanks.

Hi Zac,

There is nothing wrong with your script. populate field issue will happen only when we use IE browser. Looks like currently there is no workaround for it. If you use Chrome or Firefox browser, this issue will be resolved.

Hi Ric & Prakruthim,

@Ric, Unfortunately i haven't made any progress since as we've been focused elsewhere. I've continued testing and the same issue seems to occur in IE regardless.

@Prakruthim, that does seem to be the case, i also can't think of any other way to get it working with IE 11.

Will let you guys know if i learn more.

Thanks for your reply. I am having issues with all 3 major browsers. My patience is running thin with Fitnesse as it's hard to debug or modify the framework. Appian has made it easy but we just have to wait. :) thanks again.

Ric Alves (ricardoa884) Is your issue the same as in the description, i.e. characters skipped when entering items into the picker. As a test, can you disable the reevaluation on keypress?
