News Tab inside of Records

Question

Hi All, 
 I've read through the documentation on how the News Feed works, but I'm still not clear on how News is displayed INSIDE of records. We have 2 record types, both have the default "news" tab inside of them, but nothing currently displays as we don't really utilize the feature. 
 I want to enable users to add news posts inside of specific records - I don't care if these are shared on the main news feed or not. Basically we'd like to use the News tab inside of our Records as a way to communicate regarding that specific record -- what is the best way to do this? I don't see how to configure the News tab inside of the Record set up anywhere.

Hi Sarah, 
 
You need to tag news posts to the record by using the Post Event to News Feed smart service ( docs.appian.com/.../Post_Event_to_Feed_Smart_Service.html) and identifying which record the post relates to. Then the news feed post will show up in the news tab of the record. 
 
I recommend creating a related action for your record that allows user's to create posts and then in the process you can execute that smart service.

 You can not configure news tab from record, You can give it from post event to feed smart service. 
 I attached the screenshot for this 
 
 Here you have to use record link in recordTag parameter 
 a!recordLink( recordType:cons!recordType, identifier:record Id )
