Read a password protected attachment from an Email

What's the use case?
Is there an expectation that emails with password protected emails will be sent to Appian frequently?
Are the attachments always the same file type?
Are they archives?

I don't think so, its achievable with out of box functionality in Appian. Then also, I'll be interested to understand use case. As you said, do you need to read all attachments of the instance?

If the document is the excel, then we can use the smart service for the encryption

Firstly we will generate the encrypted document and we will pass that document as attachment.

I want to send an encrypted excel file through an email to a process model. The process model on receiving that attachment should be able to read that file by providing the password.

This smart service is to provide encryption to the excel sheet which the process model would receive. I want the reverse. I would receive an encryted file as an input to the process model and want to read the file by providing password.
