Why internet explorer cache needs to be cleared out sometimes to work Appian smoothly?

Scenario:

I have a related action with process model and a quick task in it. I am using that related action daily. I haven't face any problem till now.

Today, I tried and executed it, the user interface components for the task didn't show up, however, the process instance was created and that quick task was assigned to me. I cleared out the internet explorer's cache then it started working correctly. FYI, chrome browser didn't give any such problem. So, why cache has to be cleared for IE?
