Display Google Maps In Sail Interface Using Web Content Component

There's a similar thread here that uses the static maps API from google, it's very simple (and common in Appian) to add your own zoom controls using buttons or dynamicLink components.

I don't think there is any need to use the web content view unless you have specific reasons for not doing so?

Before start coding you need to first register and get the key from google maps API console and use the code.
