Script task execution time

Question

Hello, 
 I have a script task which checks whether a value of the pv is null or not and saves the result (boolean value) in another pv. 
 This is the only logic in the script task. However, the node timings for this script task showed 1.221 seconds. 
 Though it does not take so much time to execute every time, I would like to know the possible reasons for such time taken.

1. how about replacing what logic you have in script task with very simple logic for testing . e.g just put 1+1 and store that in pv. and compare the performance . this will tell you whether its logic in script task for some other reason. 
2. Also you can put you logic in expression rule and check the avg perfomance of expression rule in admin console
