Are these 2 different:
1) Click on Parent group and add child group using “add group” option , in this case group Parent name would not be displayed in “Parent” property of child .
Although parent is added which can be checked thru rule.
2) Click on child group and key in\\select parent group name in “Parent” property .

Nikhil, the first one is not really a parent child relationship because you are adding a group as a member of another group. This is the reason why you don't see the Parent property getting set in the member. The second one is a parent child relationship.

Something else you may want to remember here is that you can map only one group as a parent group. If you want to have multiple of these, you need to go approach #1.
