I am looking for some best practices on Archiving and its relationship with long term reporting. We have some processes that we need to report on for a couple of years. Though Appian allows to configure the archival setting to '999' what is ideal? What makes a process heavy - obviously data and the number of sub- processes would count - but is there a best practice defining no of sub process/parameter limits for this? I am just trying to quantify and figure out which processes need to be curtailed to free my cache. Once I have a defined mechanism to figure out the 'heavy' processes I can use the "Send Message" event from the "END" event of my process and send ONLY the fields needed for my reporting to a reporting process. Please advise....

In the checklist for Functional specs at
forum.appian.com/.../Write_Functional_Specification_Document
, one of the items is "What is the archiving and data transfer strategy for each process model in the target application?"
Are there any case studies available from appian for the same? If so, please provide the link.
