When saving any object, would be great to have a feature to add it to a patch for the application you launched it from.

What's the specific use case you're envisioning exactly? And would this always be the automatic behavior or would it be enabled/disabled somehow on a per-object basis?
It could ask the first time you save an object. Just makes it easier to track touched objects for when they are going to be packed out.
