Add a list a numbers

Question

I have a list of strings(duration's) in the format 
 "2:05", 
 "2:50" 
 
 "1:50" 
 
 I need to add the lists and get the result as 6:45. is there any function that can help to add the duration ?

Look into the intervalds() function. I suspect that if you can convert these into "interval" type, you could then add them up.
