There is no supported way of doing this.
Hi Stefan, Can we change the version in Manifest file and Deploy,
as i took an full application Export, the i tried import it, it throwed an error saying Version mismatch when i inspect,
but when i changed the version in the Manifest file and try to import and inspect, it dint threw an error,
can we deploy doing this, or it will hamper the environment or create any issues
This is what I meant with "not supported". It might work if you do not use any features of the new version, but if things go wrong, you are on your own.
we have not used any new feature, as our dev is 20.3 and prod is 20.3,
only QA is 20.4
If your dev environment is on 20.3, then can you deploy from that environment instead?
Hi Peter, the Development of other Stories have started, and they are on the same objects.
Just wanted to understand, as we know , there are no features of 20.4 has been used, as our Dev Environment is 20.3, if we deploy the Application , will it effect the other application or the whole Appian tool ?
I would strongly recommend you do this deployment once your production environment is upgraded to 20.4. Even if you haven't used any of the newer 20.4 features, i've experienced in the past that forcibly importing objects from a newer version to an older version can sometimes cause very large side effects due to the import file itself containing functionality that the older version doesn't know how to handle. Especially when you're talking about an entire application package.
If you anticipate large delays between environment upgrades in the future, you should stage your version upgrades appropriately to take this into account.
