I am using user filter in recordtype . Type of filter is daterange. Filter is done by expression rule not by selecting field of record data. I want start date and end date from daterange picker .
How will i get both date? or how can i find data whose date is between this date range.

This is implemented in the record behind the scenes. What would you want to do with these dates?
I want to filter out records by releasedate between this daterange
So you want to exclude items in a certain date range? I think this is not supported. Did you consider to create your own record list and implement custom filters?
Yes i want data between certain date range. I have to do using expression rule in User filter of "Record Type". So is it possible?
I need some clarification. What do you need?
a) Records with a certain date INSIDE the selected range
b) Records with a certain date OUTSIDE the selected range
Option a) is the default behaviour. If this is what you need, can you explain what your specific issue is?
Option b) is not supported as a default record user filter.
i want to do option a. Here is scenario.
In this, Release Date is there. I want records between this date range. Field on which filter will be applied is not displayed on dashboard. Field is in another table. So I can't directly apply filter on selected field. I have to use expression to apply filter. But in expression coding i need two dates i.e. start date and end date. So, is it possible?
Hi,
Have you tried to establish the relationship with the another record with your record? if not try to add the relationship with you record with the dependent table and create a custom record field for the release date - so using that you can add the filters in your record type.
For adding the relationships: Add Record Type Relationships - Appian 21.4
For creating the Record Custom Fields: Create Custom Record Fields - Appian 21.4
If record type is not in sync then how can we add relationship? How can we add custom record field?
Then you need to create a view in database which merges the primary and the secondary table. Then create the record on top of this view and then your range filter will just work.
Thanks Stefan for your time. I have to add this in existing record type. Can we accommodate this in existing record type? This is additional feature we add in already created record type.
Sorry, that is not possible. But you can keep the record type itself. Just create the view to be as similar as possible to the existing table. Then re-map the record to the view.
Thanks Stefan, it helps.
