As I understand, when starting Appian Engine, it gets bound to the host defined

As I understand, when starting Appian Engine, it gets bound to the host defined in appian-topology.xml. When tried host's IP address instead of localhost, Appian Engine was unable to recognise the defined topology settings and failed to start engines. IP address is ping-able in the network. Is there an additional setting or a way to bind Appian Engine to the IP address of the host instead of localhost? e.g. when starting a Java EE application server we can define a binding address in config or directly in the run line....
