Does appian support custom setup?
for example - backends in-memory database engine not required on one server when using load balancer and multiple application servers for scalability.
Can we also use any third party services (like Azure Redis cache) as cache engine?

Hello bipindras, lets make it easy. Even its possible: Don'tAppian has a good working eco system, which is improved on release bases 4 times a year and the improvements are often pretty respectable. If you disrupt this, desired effects of your changes and appians improvements can contradict each other or even cause bugs/crital errors. The maintenance on top would be insane. if you use the "default eco system" you can call the support line and you will get help as its one of the standard scenarios. The moment you have unique in house changes and the creator is gone...this will become a nightmare regarding updates and maintenance.Do you have any concrete reasons to change how appian works in the back?
thanks Richard,
I was curious to know how synchronization will work when we are using multiple server and they have their own in-memory database engines.
Also if we can reduce server resources for optimal performance

Appian has a quite good performance, so generally talking: there is no need to improve performance by yourself. Why do you want to use multiple server? Is your data load that huge? I mean a single record can technically contain up to 1 000 000 rows?
