#APPIAN UI TESTING
Hello Fellow Developers
How do we test Appian UI. I am not talking about manual testing. Test Automation of UI
We are talking in a world of agile and changing requirements almost every week , the UI changing very often etc.
and this is not a typical web site with one login. Login-FindProduct-AddtoCart-CheckOut-Done.
We have multilevel workflows Tasks, News, Records, many hand offs of tasks and could move back to the previous task if the assigne rejects as case etc.
I am not asking for performance testing which is a complete whole different use case.
Any ideas and GUI test automation experts out there.
Environment: Appian 7.4 , IE10, Windows 7....

You can use Selenium and Cucumber. Every time UI is changed, you have to Update your feature files in Selenium accordingly.

Appian 7.9 had an important update that makes it easier to perform Selenium tests against Appian SAIL interfaces. SAIL prior to Appian 7.9 dynamically evaluated ID values could change when a page re-evaluated on a user interaction.. After 7.9, IDs remain stable after user interaction re-evaluation, making an automated webdriver test able to track field IDs..
For your Appian 7.4 can be tested, but you will experience that ID behavior making selenium tests more challenging when using dynamic SAIL experiences.
