Hi,
We're using on-premise Appian with MSSQL(Sql Server) Db that includes both Appian Primary DB and Business DB.
We're on the steps to move to Appian Cloud.
Could anyone tried and share your suggestions how to migrate Appian Primary DB to Appian Cloud pls?
We understand Appian Cloud uses Maria DB, trying to find if there any better approach OR schema backup tool available for this use case pls? Thanks.

What information do you need from the primary datasource (i.e. the tempo entries, cdt metadata, etc.)? or are you referring to the business data soure that you are persisting your workflow data to?
Hi Chris,
I'm looking for the available options to migrate on-premise Primary DB MSSQL source only to Appian Cloud Maria DB target.
Maria DB documentation shows the below approach. Just surfing for any other options / open source tools for this requirement.
Ref: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/moving-data-between-sql-server-and-mariadb/#moving-data-definition-from-sql-server-to-mariadbIf the table structures are already in Appian Cloud MariaDB, we need only to import table data from On-premise Primary DB source. it may be more practical to export CSV files from SQL Server and import them into MariaDB.SQL Server Management Studio and several other Microsoft tools allow one to export CSV files.MariaDB allows importing CSV files with the LOAD DATA INFILE statement, which is essentially the MariaDB equivalent of BULK INSERT.
Thanks.
Migrating from on premise to cloud means much more than just the DB. You will need to migrate all the other components as well. I suggest to get some support from Appian.
usually you get support from appian for that (as client at least).
Thanks Stefan, of course we're checking with Appian Technical team by raising the support ticket.
Just curious to check with community and members who already experienced with on-premise to appian cloud migration and provide their views / comments on this. (If any.)
Thanks Rich, of course we're checking with Appian Technical team by raising the support ticket.
