Has anyone had issues reading HTML emails into Appian processes?

There are some extra microsoft tags being inserted which are not able to render properly in Appian, either by default or using fromhtml(). My exchange team insists that they aren't doing anything and that it is the vendors problem

I have a workaround but it seems like a simple solution must exist to this....
