Can we have direct links to Appian folders from out side the Appian environment. When I try to access the folder using the link like
http://<SERVER>:<PORT>/suite/folder/<FOLDERID>, I am getting 403 error. Our requirement is when user clicks on a folder link from outside of Appian environment(like another application or e-mail) then he should be able to browse the folder contents. For user authentication purpose we have single sign on mechanism to login to Appian.

That link will take you to the designer interface, which most users will not have access to. I would recommend exposing doc from folder on a dashboard. You can use Content Functions plugin to get all doc ids for a folder and show links to docs on a record dashboard.
