If you're importing it for the first time, that's okay because its likely you're referring to a type in your process and its not loaded already.
Please follow Appian's deployment methodology in how you should release changes across environment, namely the following order
1. Deploy global baseline (such as folders for process model, rules, document hierarchy, Group hierarchy etc)
2. Environment Specific baseline
3. CDT & Data stores
4. Processes, Actions, Dashboards, Reports etc,.
5. Any other contents
