Dears,
I have a problem in the calendar interface when the appian language is in ARABIC. The date shows and saves in Persian numbers such as : ١١٠٥٢٠٢٣. how can I keep the date language for all dates in English even though the user language still Arabic? the Persian numbers are causing me massive errors when I map them.

Appian stores date and datetime as a normal data type, independent of the chosen language. What kind of issues do you have when mapping, and what do you mean with "mapping"?
for example, when i run the function today(), it should return the date in english number. but appian return it in persian number because my user language is Arabic. this value is causing me errors when i pass it to an external webservice. do you have any suggestions?
Appian has a UI representation layer which translates any internal value into the user selected localization. Appian does not store any value in the language it shows on screen.
Can you share a few details about that web service and how you implement that?
Ahh i got you. I am creating an API that changes the numbers into English values then send it to the webservice.
The webservice is from outsource company, it accepts the date in English with specific format "mmddyyyy". The only solution i got is to change the numbers through an API then map it with the webservice.
Thank you for your clarification, Stefan!
OK. The text() function might what you are looking for.
tried it, it didn't work with any format. the API has fixed it
