I have a read only grid with data sourcing from a record type. One of the columns in the interface has a record link field enabling it to drill down into a record summary.
Is there a way we can redirect back to the interface from the record summary view? Ask is to have a cancel button that will take the user back to the read-only interface where the user started.
safe link is not an option.

The browser back button does not work?
The browser back button works fine. but it takes you to the exact previous page which can be any previous page if they navigate to other views screens. ask is to have a cancel button in each of the views(we have 3) which will take the user straight back to the list view on the click of a button from any of the views. I am not sure if that is possible
A "Cancel" button !?!
Your use case seems to be simple to implement. Just build a nested interface instead of trying to navigate somewhere. Think of a single-page web page for which you use some UI state management to switch between different aspects of the UI.
Yea, I tries the nested interface part. by having an if condition,
if(cancel, show the record list view interface, show current interface)
but the issue here is you will still be left with the view's header (summary, xyz, abc, etc)on the top.
Or I m just not simply following what you are saying.
I did not remember that your grid is on a record summary. Is it?
Well ... you have two options. Use the Appian OOTB capabilities and navigate using a link, or build your full custom UI trying to find what you are looking or.
Maybe one last idea. Did you consider to use a related action for drill-down? This way, you could open that in a dialog window.
