...l, www.ggogle.com and blank. None of these options seem to work. I delete a previous row that was giving me the same error so I don't think it is the data that is causing the problem. Any thoughts or ideas on how I might be able to track down the issue would be welcome.

Is your local db also a MySQL? Check encoding on that column, looks to me that the write is in UTF-8 but the DB may not accept that.

It is a mysql db. But the encoding was not utf-8. I have made the modification and I am going to try it again. The strange part is that the encoding in my develeopment and test environments was the same and it worked in development.
