I have a word template in which there are several paragraphs. Some of these paragraphs are optional and their presence depends in certain conditions held as process variables.

When I'm generating the document (Appian Smart Service - MS Word 2007 Doc from Template) using the template, how could I code the removal of the paragraphs which are no longer required?...

put each paragraph into constant, according to condition display them:
EX:when you are assigning pv's in word template make it as if(true(),cons!PARA1,"")
