Is there a limit to the length of a CDT name or pv name? Would the length of the CDT name affect the way the value saves to the database?...

The name of a process variable is limited through the UI and is established by this property (set to 200 bytes by default)

conf.suite.DATA_CAP_SENTENCES=

It doesn't seem to be a limit for the name of a CDT though.

No, the length of the name doesn't affect the way the value is saved to the DB
