We are trying to find if there is a way to generate an Excel, using a!exportDataStoreEntityToExcel() or other functionality, and start the download automatically without the need to access the interface after a while to download the Excel manually thought a link. We want to generate the excel and then download it in one click.
Has anyone tried this before or know how it can be achieved?

if possible try to show the details in grid and show export to excel button.
As far as I know, there is no solution for generating and downloading the excel file in one click other than above solution
There is no way from user input task to generate and download document on one click. But, If you know that the user will download a particular set of data, I recommend the following approach when using a process model:Before going to the user input task, generate the document using the a!exportDataStoreEntityToExcel() smart service.Then, simply provide the user with a link to download the document.
This gets asked at least every few months - as usual, the (appian supported) answer is that the best solution will be one using 2 clicks - one to generate, another to download.
