When I am working on a case in workspace, I observed that unless I manually change the case status and assignee from the 3 dots button, these fields do not change automatically. Is this an expected behavior? For example, even if all the tasks of a case are completed, and I manually do not change the status, the status remains "open".

Hi everyone I received this question anyone can help please. 1. Class Member Status Updates: We need class members who were enrolled in MH sessions to have their status updated from Active to Closed. When end dates were entered at the time of closure, we assumed the status would update automatically, but it appears those cases are still showing as active in the database.

Yes — that’s the expected behavior in Case Management Studio. By default, case status and assignee aren’t automatically updated when tasks are completed. The framework provides flexibility so organizations can define their own rules for transitions.
If you’d like the status or assignee to change automatically (e.g., when all tasks are done → set status to Closed), you can configure this through:
Business rules or process models to trigger updates on task completion, or
Record action automation within Case Management Studio’s configuration layer.
In short, it’s working as designed — you just need to add logic for your specific workflow.
